Whewww. What an opportunity (missed!). On a technical note, do you know if flac are 'better' than shn or are they just two different lossless formats?

I did read somewhere recently that .shn is going the way of the dinosaurs and could soon be obsolete.

No. I could use a decoder too, I haven't been able to anything with them lately. A couple people have suggested different software here, but I never saved it. Could you send me an email with a link? I'm thinkin' if Wolf can use it , I should be able to also... At your convenience of course. I've got to go to work soon, damn four days went by quick!

Arghhh...it figures, the minute I am on to something techno wise, it is passe. An old dog learning new tricks shouldn't have to keep finding out he's learning yesterday's tricks.

Nonetheless, do love the difference between shns (as wavs--hope they're okay!) and MP3s, even if as we all discussed back a while ago, MP3s aren't bad either...

It doesn't look like shn is disappearing. Some tapers and uploaders prefer flac, but not all. Those who prefer flac have an argument to support their choice, but offhand I don't recall whether it's a definitive reason to choose one over the other.

Hey Tiger--thanks for all the help this morning. Did you put me on to "Trader's Little Helper?" A big thanks for that, and if I start doing flacs, it converts those to wavs, right?

Sorry if I got it wrong--can't find the old thread that gave me the tip on TLH.
